Welcome to Mac & Toys!

Meghan Corridan | Pediatric Occupational Therapist
I am one of those lucky people who loves her job and looks forward to going to work each day. When people ask me what I do, I tell them that I hang out with some of New York City’s coolest kids and play with toys and games all day long! While there is much more to it than just that, I truly get to go to work and have fun while knowing that I get to make life a little easier for children and the grownups who love them.

I started working as an occupational therapist at a small preschool in Brooklyn shortly after graduating from and completing my fieldwork assignments from The University of New Hampshire. After spending two years there, I moved to a larger preschool, Stepping Stone Day School, in Queens. During that time, I began working at a private practice on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and since 2004, have been working at Sage for Children and currently Heads Up Therapy.

My approach to working with children is play-based and focused on meeting them where they are at and helping them build skills. It’s a very sensory based approach and working in a therapeutic gym allows me to mix play, strengthening and so much more. I am a collector of all the cools, toys, games, craft kits and newest and fun fidget toys! I am a team worker... I can’t do anything to help a child without the help of their village! I am a cheerleader and will encourage all children to overcome their fears to be the best version of themselves!

When not at work, I am the mother of 12 ½ year old Quinn and her fur-sibling, Ripley. We love spending time at the beach as a family, watching movies, crafting, baking and enjoying all that New York City and Brooklyn have to offer.

Feedback & Testimonials

  • Jacqueline Barredo

    Speech and Language Pathologist
    UWS
As a speech-language pathologist, I’ve known Meghan personally and professionally for over 10 years. We have shared numerous cases throughout the years and I’ve always admired Meghan’s dedication to each child and family. She is a caring, nurturing, creative, and intelligent OT who believes in every child’s potential from the get-go. Alongside her naturally generous nature, she is a true team player and is always initiating collaboration with other disciplines, school professionals, and families. Meghan is an extremely talented OT; all the time thinking about the whole child and incorporating strategies that are easy for other professionals and family members to carryover. I cannot recommend Meghan enough — she is one-of-a-kind!

  • Kim McGarvey

    Social Worker and Family Counselor
Meghan is truly a gift to young children and their families. I have been working with her for many years and I am always impressed by her dedication to each child that she sees. We share many cases and despite her busy case load, she always finds time to communicate and collaborate with other providers so that her clients will feel successful and understood. It is through these connections that Meghan has created a large network of providers and she is regularly helping parents find the best therapy, school and supportive environments for their child. She is patient, empathetic, creative and passionate about helping young children grow and change.

  • Laura

Mom of 5 year old daughter
Meghan has been a true advocate for our daughter both in her work with her in the ot gym and in interfacing with schools and figuring out the best environment for her. Our daughter has made so much progress with Meghan and while the work is challenging she has so much fun and views it as play. Meghan really understands our daughter and what motivates her. She has helped us so much as parents along the way in figuring out our daughters needs while also truly celebrating her strengths. She has gone above and beyond her scope of work helping interface with schools and being a true advocate. We are very grateful to Meghan and feel so lucky to have her in our daughter's life.

Mom to 9 year old daughter and 11 year old son
Meghan Corridan is the dream OT. Caring, knowledgeable, compassionate, honest...she's a professional guide for your child and an advocate for them, as well. My kids and I both felt completely at ease with Meghan. She never hesitated to have a discussion when I had questions or concerns and she was always incredibly responsive. My kids even looked forward to their OT appointments-- they were always met with incredible warmth and an expert eye. Beyond the work she did in the gym, Meghan helped us navigate school and DOE processes to make sure my son was being best served both in and out of the classroom. We feel so fortunate to have been under Meghan's excellent care for both of our kids!

  • Courtney

Mom of 2½ year old son
Sometimes the world hands you the exact right person at the exact right moment—and for our family, that person was Meghan Corridan. My son was almost two, and experiencing a myriad of delays. A “pandemic baby,” he’d had very few interactions outside our small family unit in his first couple years. I wanted to believe kids are resilient and he’d be fine. But the truth was, we needed help. Enter Meghan. Her approach is creative and kind, her optimism infectious, and her energy boundless. She told me to get a calendar to track every new thing that my son did, so that day by day I could see his progress. In just a few short weeks, the calendar filled as Meghan worked to expand his comfort zones and even venture outside them. We now not only have an active, vocal almost-three-year-old who is hitting and exceeding nearly every milestone, but also hearts that are full of gratitude for Meghan.
